SMCA Civic Education

An online community education sessions was held for community members from all over Australia.

We discussed:

  • How to vote correctly on the ballot paper
  • Lower house vs upper house preferences
  • Some examples of what Shia communities are doing across Australia to engage in the upcoming elections

The session was Wednesday 23rd April at 7pm.

The attendance and participation was excellent and the presenters did a great job explaining the voting and electoral process.

Madrasa Conference 2025

25th January 2025, hosted at the Imam Hasan Centre

An uplifting event where 27 Madressas and over 120 teachers and volunteers came together. The presentations and workshops were very beneficial, and there were great opportunities for discussion and networking.

We are grateful to all the teachers and volunteers who sacrifice their time and talents to help the current and future generations protect and cherish their faith.

SMCA Community Football Competition - October 2024

The first edition of the SMCA community Football Competition was a great success. 13 teams from across 10 communities participated in a day that brought together youth from all the different sectors of the community.

The competition was fierce but friendly with 130 players taking part. The participants also enjoyed a great sausage sizzle.
$3000 was raised to provide aid to our displaced brothers and sisters in Lebanon.

Congratulations to team Mayvand from the Ershad Islamic Centre who won the competition.
